It’s about time Addie and I celebrate our very first anniversary. We decided to have dinner in a Greek restaurant with my family. She said that it’s so mainstream if we would have dinner alone, so better invite my family in, since they are the ones who care most for our relationship. Addie and I don’t usually dress up when we go out to eat. But this time, we wanted it to be special since it’s our first anniversary. We both agreed to dress up a bit. I arrived at the location with my family earlier than what was agreed. It’s actually a good thing because I had time to buy her a gift. Thanks to my sister, I was able to decide on what to give Addie. I bought a handbag and asked my sister if she would like a gift like this if someone would give it to her; she said yes. After buying the bag, we went around and found a flower shop. I was actually thinking if I would buy her a bouquet of flowers. Why? Because I remember Addie telling me the first time she received a bouquet of flowers from a suitor. She really didn’t want others to see her carrying flowers, so she just threw it away. In my case, I’m not her suitor anymore. I’m her boyfriend so she wouldn’t dare to throw the flowers away. And plus, we know ourselves as a couple who suck at giving gifts. We really don’t know what kind of gift to give someone even to each other. So if I would buy something that she least expects me to give her, it would surely be a surprise.
Addie arrived and was saying sorry we had to wait, but consoled her by saying we got there earlier than what was agreed on. It was the first time for my family to try a Greek restaurant and they needed the help of the waiter to choose authentic Greek foods to taste. The waiter’s name was Jarv and he had been kind to us while serving the food. When all food was served, It was about time I surprise Addie with the bouquet of flowers. Before Addie arrived, I asked Jarv to keep the bouquet of flowers until I told him to do so. Jarv asked another help from a waitress to hand the bouquet of flowers to me without Addie noticing. It was actually a success. Jarv got Addie’s attention while I prepared to surprising her. I was just waiting for her to look.
And yeah, you know what happened next–she looked and was surprised. She didn’t expect that someone like me would give a bouquet of flowers. Thanks to my sister as well, she was able to capture this moment with her camera. It made the dinner date even better. We continued enjoying the food and had to go home after. We drove her home, but this time, the road going right in front of their house was closed due to construction. It’s also actually a good thing because I was able to walk her home with just the two of us. She didn’t notice I was holding the handbag gift on my left hand while we were walking. When we arrived home, I handed her the gift. She got surprised again and gave me a kiss. She felt really happy but somehow felt bad because she didn’t have one for me. But I said it doesn’t really matter. What matters is that we both enjoyed the night. She said it felt like she just had a new boyfriend.
In our next anniversary, I’m not sure what to do yet. But as much as possible, I don’t want her to be expecting something. I mean, I want to surprise her again. Hopefully, I’ll come up with something.
|Addie:||...drop by so I could kiss you goodbye?|
|AB:||Oh okay sure. Direcho ako jan mamya to kiss you. <3|
|AB:||Ikikiss ka mamaya ni Adam Levine :D|
Hi, Addie here.
And this is me with my boyfriend, AB.
Such a freaky eater, ain’t he? Roughly one year of togetherness and now it’s confirmed and official: I’m dating a boyfriend with a compulsion toward ojing-o-dupbap.
I love him nevertheless.
